Minimum Requirements to officiate at Soccerfest 2010:
• Must be at least 14 years of age. Ages 14-15 will require a work permit.
• Must have a minimum game experience of 20 games in the center and 20 games as Assistant Referee in one of the competitive leagues and or tournaments.
• Must be current (2010) with the IYSA background check.
• Must be a USSF Grade 8 referee or higher.
• Must be able/willing to do both Referee and Assistant Referee assignments.
• Must have at least three different color referee shirts one of which must be gold.
• Must have referee equipment, flags, whistle, red & yellow cards, etc.
I believe this is one of the finest tournaments in the area. I expect the referees to be professional, courteous and understanding. In return you will have the full support of the Tournament Director, Club President, and Referee Assignor. Food, Beverages and shelter will also be provided. We will as much as possible provide transportation to the more distant fields.
All the fields will be monitored by field marshals with communication devices. They will also perform the player check in duties, hold onto the player passes and collect the game cards from the referees.
